Community Programs

Town Hall Meetings

The Foundation builds upon its support by staging activities throughout all communities. The Foundation regularly holds community visits, to thank its supporters for their help and to explain what the Foundation has done with the funds with which it has been entrusted.

Speakers Program

Organizations interested in having a medical professional speak to them are invited to contact the BMP Foundation office and the Foundation will assist in making the necessary arrangements

Hospital Tours

The Foundation organizes departmental tours of the Hospital for graduating students of the region’s four high schools, that they may identify and explore interesting career opportunities within the health care sector here in Brome-Missisquoi. From 60-70 graduating students participate in these day-long visits each year, gaining a valuable insight into career opportunities in medicine, nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medical imagery and respiration therapy.

The BMP Foundation Scholarship program, open to graduating students from the region’s high schools who reside in Brome-Missisquoi and are pursuing a career in health care, is designed to encourage local students to pursue such career opportunities and, at the same time, to develop a positive working relationship between the recipients and the BMP Hospital.

Each year’s winner receives a $1000 scholarship, repeatable each year of the student’s CEGEP program as well as an offer of summer employment each year at the BMP Hospital to provide that individual with meaningful on-the-job training, wherever possible, in the field which he/she will be pursuing.
