Community Partners Make a Difference!
The BMP
Foundation acknowledges contributions made through key partnerships with affiliated organizations
and partners.
BMP Auxiliary . . . The Hospital Auxiliary continues to
provide valuable support to the BMP Hospital and its Foundation, recently contributing $25,000
towards the purchase of new sterilization equipment for the Hospital’s Endoscopic unit. The
Auxiliary and its dedicated team of volunteers raises funds throughout the year through the
Hospital Boutique, its two annual teas, and other fundraising activities. In recent years the
Auxiliary has been an important partner in helping the Foundation provide new ophthalmologic
equipment, a new operating table, upgraded sterilization equipment, and mammography unit.
Cancer Walk . . . The BMP Mammography unit has now become one
of ten pilot sites across the province for a Quebec Health Ministry project for assuring the
quality of mammography centres. An important element in attaining this status has been the
provision of key equipment, as a result of the Yamaska Valley Optimist Club’s annual Walk
Against Breast Cancer in Knowlton last October. Over 200 participants joined in, raising $27,000.
Community support, reinvested for better health care!
