18th Owl's Head Challenge Raises $7,075

Ski Big Three Representative Kevin Gasior, Fred and Lillian Korman owners of Owl’s Head Development, Denis Heath of the BMP Foundation and Owl’s Head Marketing Manager Ken Rourke-Frew celebrate another successful Owl’s Head Challenge.

Notwithstanding somewhat "iffy" weather predictions some 135 registrants and more than 120 racers participated in and very much enjoyed the Owl's Head Challenge on Saturday, March 7th, 2009.

We take the liberty of quoting Ken Rourke-Frew of Owl's Head who said - "This is a big shout out to all of those that competed, donated, volunteered and watched the Challenge on Saturday. After all was said and done, we were able to hand over a cheque for $7,075 to the BMP Foundation. Thank you so much for all your help. This year, more than ever, it was evident that family and community were at the forefront of this event. A special thanks to the OH Ski Club and all their members for their support, not only in setting up the race but also for competing and donating. It is days like this that we are proud to be part of the Owl's Head Family." 

There were many winners on the ski hill and door prizes of over $10,000 were distributed in the lodge later in the day. Volkl skis, a large bar bq, an Owl's Head Golf Membership and a trip for two to Banff, complements of SkiBig 3.com, were the "headline" prizes. The latter was won by the McDougall family of Potton who have been very generous donors to this event for many, many years.

The Foundation wishes to add their thanks to all of you who made the day such a success. Special mention goes to Ken Rourke-Frew, who organized and managed the event, and Lillian & Fred Korman for their kindness and generosity in once again making their Owl's Head facility available for this most worthwhile event.
