Piano Concert raises $1100 for BMP
Arts Knowlton played host to a full house on Sunday afternoon, November
6, as local musicians Susan Reininger and Evie Johnston-Main performed Afternoon
Delight , a four-hand piano concert.
The program included selections from Ravel, Cole Porter and George Gershwin. It
wasn’t long before the girls had the sold-out house singing to the lyrics of I love
Paris and other favorites.
The afternoon was further enhanced when Susan and Evie were joined by Women
of Note , a group of eight very talented local vocalists who delighted the house with a short
repertoire of swing and jazz numbers a cappella.
Apart from providing a pleasant afternoon’s entertainment, the concert
raised just over $1100 for the BMP Foundation for the purchase of additional medical equipment.
The Foundation wishes to thank publically both Susan and Evie for all that they
put into the concert, to all members of Women of Note , to Brome Lake Books for
promoting the event so successfully, Arts Knowlton for the use of the Theatre’s facilities,
to Marty Gillespie for the use of his truck in transporting the piano, and to Maurice Singfield for
tuning the two pianos free of charge.
