Cowansville Handicrafts Show Raises $5,100
 Organizers of the 2008 Cowansville Handicrafts Show presented a
cheque of $5,100 to the BMP Hospital Foundation. This brings the event’s total contribution
to the Foundation over the past several years to $35,000.
The two-day show, a collaborative effort between local organizers, the Town of
Cowansville and the BMP Hospital Foundation, occurred on July 5 & 6 at Cowansville’s
Davignon Park. Over 100 artisans from across Quebec, Ontario and Vermont gathered to display and
sell crafts, painting, sewing, woodwork, dried flowers, ceramics, gastronomic foods, soap making
etc. Visitors could also see chain saw carving demonstrations.
Congratulations and thanks are extended to organizers Alan Webb, Tait Hauver, and
Jim Fulford, as well as the Town of Cowansville for its collaboration and financial support. A
special mention goes to the Cowansville Canadian Tire store for donating the top prize (a $500
gift certificate) and Bessette Automobile for sponsoring the train and donating the proceeds
to the Foundation. Thanks also to the many volunteers who worked to make the event such a
success.
The funds will be used by the BMP Hospital Foundation to provide additional
equipment and training for the BMP Hospital and its professionals.
