Owl Hoot 2008
The Owl Hoot Farm, owned by John and Dianne Rhicard, once again opened
its gates to the public for its 16th annual sugaring off party for the BMP Foundation. It all
took place on Saturday, April 12th and, notwithstanding rather gloomy/rainy weather forecasts
prior to the event, 365 enthusiasts showed up and enjoyed the day (which turned out to be
relatively pleasant).
This is a very popular spring-time activity for local families and Hospital
supporters. Its many attractions include live music, blacksmith demonstrations, timber hewing,
horse-drawn wagon and ox cart rides, homemade doughnuts and bake table, a petting zoo, a canteen
and maple syrup poured over fresh snow.
