A record breaking crowd of more than 725 enjoyed a bright,
sunny day for the Owl Hoot sugar party on April 11th. This was the 17th year the event was held at
The Owl Hoot Farm, owned by John and Dianne Rhicard and the highest ever proceeds, $4,600, were
donated to the BMP Foundation.
This is a very popular spring-time activity for local families and
Foundation/Hospital supporters. Its many attractions include live music, blacksmith demonstrations,
timber hewing, horse-drawn wagon and ox cart rides, homemade doughnuts and bake table, a petting
zoo, a canteen and fresh maple syrup on snow.
We thank all of those who helped make this event such a huge success with special
thanks going to the Rhicard family and freinds for their kindness and generosity over all of these
seventeen years.
