Some 535 maple syrup enthusiasts and supporters of the BMP Foundation came from near and far to enjoy yet another great day at the Owl Hoot sugar party which took place on April 10th, 2010. This was the 18th year the event was held at The Owl Hoot Farm in Stanbridge East, owned by John and Dianne Rhicard. As in the past, this year's net proceeds of $3,783 were again donated to the BMP Foundation.

This is a very popular spring-time activity for local families and Hospital/Foundation supporters. Its many attractions include live music, blacksmith demonstrations, timber hewing, horse-drawn wagon and ox cart rides, homemade doughnuts and bake table, a petting zoo, a canteen and fresh maple syrup on snow.
We thank all of those who helped make this event such a success. A very special thanks this year goes to Mont Sutton who "came to the rescue" with a supply of much needed snow to replenish the modest amounts of natural snow remaining at the farm which mother nature was rapidly depleting. As well, the Foundation again extends a very appreciative "merci beaucoup" to the Rhicard family and friends for their kindness, hospitality and generosity during these eighteen years.
For those of you who like to plan ahead, next year's Hoot will be taking place on Saturday, April 9th, 2011.
