Optimists Raise $35,000 for BMP Birthing Pavilion

Members from the Optimist Clubs of Cowansville, Dunham, Sutton, Town of Brome Lake and the Yamaska Valley once again worked the 'phones during their 19th Annual Telephone Blitz seeking support for the Birthing Pavilion of the BMP Hospital.

This annual telethon is an important contribution to the well-being of our newborns: these drives have now provided nearly $470,000 worth of medical equipment for the BMP Birthing Pavilion, a unit which has garnered provincial, national and international recognition for its leadership in birthing and maternity care.    

This year the clubs raised over $35,000 in pledges for additional equipment , including a specialized oxygen warming apparatus, a “bilibassinet” for phototherapy in special circumstances,  ventilation equipment for assisting infants during transfer to outside hospitals and centres, as well as new mattresses throughout the unit.

Optimist Club members have contacted fellow residents of Bromont, Cowansville, Dunham, Farnham, Sutton and Town of Brome Lake, to help meet this need. 

The BMP Foundation and all Optimist Club members join in thanking everyone for their support of this activity. Each and every dollar received is an important investment in the health and the future of our children.
