Art and Healing Project

Initiated by the BMP Foundation, the Art and Healing Project aims at installing art works on specific walls of the BMP Hospital in order to embellish and brighten up the environment of these areas.

The invitation was first made to local artists. Marc Beauchamp, Lynda Bruce, Jacqueline Désaulniers, Pierre Dunnigan, Mary Martin, and Zut (Julie Touchette) have kindly agreed to take part in this new initiative. Their paintings/pictures have been installed in the Breast Clinic and the Cafeteria.

In 2015, the Foundation then extended the invitation to local schools. The Art and Healing Project was a great way to raise students’ awareness on the role of the hospital and the importance of community involvement. Seven schools responded to the call!

Thanks to the following institutions:
1. École du Premier-Envol, Bedford
2. École Saint-Édouard, Lac Brome
3. École Saint-Jacques, Farnham
4. École Saint-Romuald, Farnham
5. Farnham Elementary School, Farnham
6. Knowlton Academy, Knowlton
7. NCG Sutton School, Sutton

We have received many positive comments from patients, families, but also from the BMP Hospital staff. These drawings and paintings completely transform the atmosphere of the Cafeteria.

We wish to warmly thank the schools, principals, teachers, and all students who participated. Thank you for your support! Your drawings put color and joy in the hospital.

The Art and Healing Project will be renewed annually to allow other schools and students to get involved in their community!

On your next visit to the hospital, take a second to go to the cafeteria and see for yourself the impact these art works have.
