An edition in the sun!

On Wednesday June, 19, 2019, the 32nd edition of the BMP Classic was held at the Cowansville Golf Club. The Brome-Missisquoi-Perkins Hospital Foundation is proud to announce that, thanks to the sponsors, partners and participants, as well as friends of the BMP Foundation, the 2019 BMP Classic raised a wonderful $100,000! Thank you to all the people who participated in the success of this event.

On the theme “Back to Basics” the day was all about a return to the BMP Foundation values and its community: Mutual aid, sharing, commitment, roots. By drawing on our roots, we wanted to highlight the richness of our region and its producers. It was not necessary to look very far, happiness and quality of life exist in Brome-Missisquoi!

An improved offer for cyclists

In order to attract cycling lovers and lovers of the Brome-Missisquoi region, cyclists were surprised to make stops directly at regional producers’ places. The participants of the 85 km tour had the opportunity to discover the magnificent Pigeon Hill organic vineyard located in St-Armand. The winegrowers, with the help of Bernard from The Auberge des 3 érables, welcomed them for lunch. The 49-km cyclists were treated to a delicious BBQ organized by Microbrasserie Farnham. The two groups met at the end of the day at the Vignoble de la Bauge in Brigham where they were offered a small wine tasting to close their cycling tours.

Golfers were not to be surpassed as they were able to taste the refreshing Garde-Malade beer offered by the Brasseurs from West Shefford as well as the wine from the Léon Courville Winery. An authentic lemonade stand prepared by Épicerie-Café Dunham and run by Sotheby’s was also present at the crossroads.

At the end of the day, the cocktail party was an opportunity for everyone to share on the day and their local gastronomic discoveries. The dinner was a great success with 4 services provided by our regional producers. A delight according to all participants! At the end of the meal, the director of the BMP Foundation, Ms. Lola Landes, was moved to announce this big amount. Thanks to donors, sponsors, partners, participants, the silent auction that had just closed and two last-minute donations, we were able to announce this magnificent amount of $100,000! Thank you all!

The Pain Management Clinic

With this amount, the BMP Foundation is pleased to announce that the project to acquire a new ultrasound unit for the Pain Management Clinic will be completed. Opened in 2013, the clinic offers specialized services for those suffering from chronic pain. Currently, 10% to 25% of the population is slowed down or stopped by constant pain on a daily basis. The new ultrasound machine is specifically adapted for superficial and deep nerve blocks and will help to relieve a greater number of patients.
