BMP Foundation invests more than $1,930,581 to improve health care offered to the community of Brome-Missisquoi!

Cowansville, June 5, 2025 – It is with great pride that the Brome-Missisquoi-Perkins Hospital Foundation is redistributing most of the donations raised through its fundraising activities in 2024-2025 through various projects in our beautiful region. We are pleased to share with you the highlights of our annual report tabled at our last Annual General Meeting, held on June 3, 2025.

In November 2024, a major modernization of the medical facilities and equipment in the BMP Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department was launched to improve the flow of services and the user experience.

In May 2025, the first phase of the project was completed with the opening of the first new x-ray room, which can perform over 48,000 x-rays annually. This major achievement, along with other improvements to the ultrasound rooms and radiologists’ reading offices, represents an investment of $1.3 million out of a total of $2.2 million that the Foundation has pledged to support over the four phases of the project.

In fiscal year 2024-2025, thanks to the generosity of its donors, over $615,885 worth of equipment (in addition to the medical imaging project) was acquired and projects to improve care were carried out. For the most part, the acquisition of equipment for outpatient colonoscopy and gastroscopy examinations is helping to improve access to this type of examination – often crucial for the early detection of certain cancers.

The picture we present this year clearly demonstrates the public’s attachment to their hospital and their confidence in our organization. For a small organization like ours, this is an immensely inspiring testimony to our ongoing mission. We go to great lengths to ensure that our administrative expenses are soundly managed, so that the maximum amount of every donation received goes directly to our mission.

A year marked by historic generosity!

The BMP Foundation team would like to thank all those donors who collectively raised a total of $3.8 million in proceeds during the 2024-2025 fiscal year. This result is the largest to date in the Foundation’s history. This success is attributable to the mobilization of our donors, and also in large part to the extraordinary growth in planned gifts, such as gifts of securities and wills.

We are keen to seize every opportunity to improve the quality and accessibility of care at the BMP Hospital today, but also to consolidate our services for the future, because we are aware that there will always be challenges to overcome in the healthcare field. We will be there, with the support of the people of Brome-Missisquoi, to meet them.

Volunteers and a team invested in our mission

These achievements are only possible thanks to the contributions of our donors, sponsors and collaborators. We are also extremely grateful to our wonderful team of volunteers for their support and hard work throughout the year. In particular, the volunteers at the Auxiliary Boutique who run the small shop 5 days a week on a voluntary basis.
