The Yamaska Valley Optimist Club
The Yamaska Valley Optimist Club has been organizing the Walk to Fight All Cancers for the benefit of the BMP Foundation since 2001. We’d like to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their ongoing commitment to improving care for cancer patients.
Since 2001, the walks have raised a total of $1,250,000. These funds have been invested in the following acquisitions, in chronological order:
- A digital mammography machine
- A 3D surgical gynecological laser
- An ultrasound unit for the BMP Breast Clinic
- A colposcope and equipment for the BMP Gynecology Department
- The following gynecological devices: Novasure, Myosure and Thunber Beat
- Two colonoscopes
The Yamaska Valley Optimist Club is an all-women’s optimist club located in Knowlton. In addition to the Walk, their main activities include a garage sale and Christmas angels.
