The Oncology Patients Support Fund
The Brome-Missisquoi-Perkins Hospital Foundation is proud to support the implementation of support programs created for patients with cancer or that are in remission through the Oncology Patients Support Fund.
The Oncology Patient Support Fund is a fund set up by the people of Brome-Missisquoi for the people of Brome-Missisquoi. The funds are used exclusively for patients of the BMP Hospital Oncology Clinic. To support this fund, you can make an online donation.
Yoga Classes
In collaboration with Laura Hernandez, certified ‘Yoga4cancer’ teacher, and the CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS, free Yoga classes specificly adapted for patients with cancer or in remission have been offered since 2019.
To provide people with an optimal experience, Laura uses a combination of several tools during her yoga sessions: gentle yoga postures and movements, breathing exercises, meditation, relaxation, writing exercises, as well as sounds and music.
Over $10,000 has been invested in this program over the years, enabling more than a hundred people to benefit from these adapted yoga sessions.
Participants continue to benefit from 4 x 90-minute sessions with Laura (a $100 value, taxes included).

Independent Training Sessions
Since 2024, independent training sessions have been offered by certified kinesiologist Gabrielle Duhamel. Gabrielle received the Brandone-Marcovecchio recognition award given by the SLLC in 2022, as well as a scholarship from the Cole foundation in 2018. Since then, she has developed and adapted physical activity support services for adult clients in the Eastern Townships region.
This program in particular is designed to meet the more specific needs of certain cancer patients, notably those who are immunosuppressed or whose pain requires a personalized approach to physical activity.
Participants benefit from 3 x 75-minute sessions (valued at $145) to enable them to develop an independent training program at home and stay active. The program has been renewed for 2026!

NEW – Artistic Workshops
In 2026, the BMP Foundation, in collaboration with local multidisciplinary artist Édith Cambrini, launched new workshops for artistic expression and soothing experiences for people living with cancer and their caregivers.
To kick-off the new project, the first five workshops will take place in March and April 2026, and they are specifically dedicated to individuals affected by cancer. These one-hour artistic workshops will be based on cancer-related themes.
We invite you to stay tuned for more details for the launch of another set of workshops later this year that will be offered to the caregivers of people living with cancer. These workshops will explore themes of the effects cancer can have on loved ones.
For more information or to register for the workshops, please get in touch with Édith at edith@fondationbmp.ca

Our foundation wants to do more for people going through the ordeal of cancer. This is one more action we are taking and hope to reach as many people in need as possible. We are also working on other complementary initiatives to continue to grow the services of the Oncology Patient Fund in the future.
